Well This is me
Well just a youth pastor trying to make sense of life and what not.
I am a Graduate student of John Brown University with a degree in Youth Ministry and Biblical Theological Studies. I have been doing volunteer youth ministry for about 5 years now. It has been amazing indeed seeing God use me to work in the lives of teenagers and like wise they in my life. I was working in Northern Ireland for about a year doing foundational youth ministry with a Presbyterian church, and have just currently finished up my final bit of schooling from John Brown University. It has had its ups and downs but over all has been amazing for challenging me in my faith and ethos on ministry in a hurt and broken world. It has caused me to rethink a lot of things I held as truths with in youth ministry.
I am currently working at an amazing healthy church called Faith Community Lutheran Church church in Colorado which I am very excited about. i have an amazing group of volunteers and some of the best God love and kingdom seeking staff i have ever had the chance to meet. keep an eye out for some great posts about ministries and events
I take it as a great privilege to get to do Kingdom work and have such favor from the Lord to go and do some amazing things. i can’t wait to see what God does with this chapter of my life

So you work as a volunteer, what do you do to make ends meet? If you don’t mind my asking. I volunteered with the youth at the church we moved from for 3yrs. It was an amazing time.

and its south carolina your at not texas my bad. sorry Dan.
well the support thing is a great tale. the church provides with me with 200 a month…not much…but in a attempt to live solely on the means provided i have done pretty well. when i need more some how some one from the church always comes up and says here take this…its been amazing and really growing my faith. hard place to be in working with a church that can afford things and to be considered not doing a work worthy of pay but in that same breathe it has its perks as well in that i don’t owe the church anything (in a business since) i have a freer reign to say yes and no to certain things. the only real downside is even though i’m of a pastoral leadership breed my title and authority stems under a volunteer which negates my voice quite often but…that too has taught me a lot as well

I am intrigued. You have a link to Apprising Ministries, a website that has made me swear out loud more then once. Yet you also have a link to Tony Jones who I am sure Apprising Ministries would love to see burned at the steak! I think that maybe you are just taking Generous Orthodoxy to the max!

HAHAHA well thanks Paul. there are some tremendous things that we can glean from one another in ministry. some people i agree with more than others. Tony…. Is a great challenger of ministers and ministry in my opinion. Apprising ministries… hahahaa i think i found one or two things i have used before to help illustrate a point in a sermon. but thanks for visiting. Would love to hear some of your thoughts about some of my posts
